West Lothian sees rise in registered voters

WEST Lothian has recorded the third biggest surge in voter registration in the UK, according to a new study.

There was a 3.83 per cent increase in people on the electoral register in the area, with only Three Rivers in Hertfordshire and Clackmannanshire seeing bigger rises.

The study by information services company Experian, looking at data from local authorities, found young,
educated professionals were the group most likely to fail to register to vote, while traditional working class families and couples were more likely to put their names on the register than any other group.
