Wind farm plans ‘to be re-submitted’

PLANS for a wind farm near Penicuik are to be re-submitted to Midlothian Council.

Wind Prospect Developments withdrew its application for nine wind turbines at Mount Lothian, hours before Friday’s pre-determination meeting was due to take place at Penicuik Town Hall.

The company wants more time for the preparation and submission of supplementary information in support of the project.

Wind Prospect’s development manager, Karen Thorburn, said: “Prior to submitting our planning application, we consulted extensively with all statutory consultees.

“However, nothwithstanding these efforts, certain matters have been raised post-submission, which require a detailed response.

“We intend to resubmit the planning application as soon as the necessary supplementary information has been prepared.”
