Woman demands to be sent back to prison

A WOMAN threatened to attack police officers and demanded to be sent back to prison – because her house had no electricity.

Jeanette Cairey, 43, had been released from jail just hours before she began to threaten officers in a bid to get arrested.

Cairey had began drinking heavily after being released from prison on Tuesday and arrived home to discover her house had no heating or light.

Police were called to a disturbance outside her home in Haddington where she began to make the threats to officers.

Cairey, 43, pled guilty to conducting herself in a disorderly manner at Haddington Sheriff Court. Sheriff Peter Braid told Cairey he needed to investigate further before sentencing her and deferred sentence for three weeks. Cairey was remanded in custody.
