Woman in river rescue near Gorebridge

A 37-year-old woman was stretchered from Gore Glen Woodland Park, near Gorebridge after falling down an embankment and into the River South Esk.

Firefighters rescued the casualty who had become stuck on a rock in the water while walking her dog at around 5.05pm on Friday, March 9.

Firefighters carried the casualty – who had been pulled from the water by 5.20pm – one-quarter-of-a-mile through the woodland and to a waiting ambulance.
