Woman ‘stabbed man in chest’, court told

Bryan Simons, 40, said Nikita Thompson and her boyfriend Wayne Alexander burst into the living room of the apartment in Dalry claiming someone there had stolen £250 from her purse.

Mr Simons said he saw Alexander rush past him, grab a pint tumbler and hit his friend David Hoggan on the head with it.

The glass shattered on impact and Alexander then started repeatedly punching the self-confessed drug dealer, shouting obscenities about the missing cash.

Mr Simons told the High Court at Livingston yesterday: “He was punching Dave on the head, on the face, the chest – everywhere he could reach.”

He said Thompson then came out of the kitchen armed with a five-inch long, black-handled knife and attacked him. Mr Simons said: “Nikita came rushing in with the knife and stabbed me in the chest and on the thigh.

“It was a frenzy. She just came jabbing at me. She was screaming at me about money. She tried to stab me more than six times.”

Alexander, 34, and Thompson, 26, deny being concerned in the supply of heroin to Mr Hoggan and others at the flat in Dalry Road between February 1, 2010 and May 30, 2011.

Alexander further denies attempting to murder Mr Hoggan in his home on May 25, 2011, by hitting him on the head with a glass and striking him repeatedly on the body with a knife. Thompson denies attempting to murder Mr Simons.

The trial, before Judge Lady Stacey, continues.
