Yacht arrives in Australia
The Edinburgh Inspiring Capital has arrived in Geraldton Western Australia at the end of the 4800-mile leg from Cape Town.
The team finished ninth, just behind Derry-Londonderry in the latest stage of the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race, after bad weather forced the race committee to issue a “shorten course” order and end the race on Sunday.
Describing his experiences in the Southern Ocean, skipper Gordon Reid, said, “It was totally awesome, scary, frightening, the most horrendous conditions you could ever imagine.”
