A worthy winner

Your report on the Labour by-election victory in Midlothian East was bizarre with a crude attempt to draw some parallel with Conservative voting preferences.

The reality is that Kenny Young had a lead on first preferences and at all subsequent stages apart from one.

The reality is that the voting shows victory for an excellent candidate who concentrated on the issues and drew support from a broad spectrum of the community. Your attempt to mask this illustrates again a distinct bias to those who would rather ignore people’s day to day concerns while trumpeting the mantra of separation as the answer to all issues.

I am certain that the people of Midlothian East will not be fooled by this diversion and be thankful they now have a Labour councillor speaking up for them.
