Roslin Community Chest boosted and recipients revealed

Housebuilder Taylor Wimpey East Scotland teamed up with the Roslin Community website at the end of last year, to find four local causes to share its £1,000 Community Chest.

Six worthy causeswere nominated and the team at Taylor Wimpey East Scotland increased their chest to £1,500 meaning they would all receive a £250 boost.

They are Roslin Men's Shed/Roslin Community Shed, Roslin Village Fete, Roslin Village Group, Royal British Legion, Glencorse Golf Club - Juniors and Rosslyn Community Bowling Club.

Jim Hiddleston of Roslin Village Group said: “I would like to thank Taylor Wimpey for their support which will make such a difference to residents and also for working so closely with Roslin & Bilston Community Council.”

Kenny Young of Roslin Village Fete said: “This donation will go towards providing some form of entertainment for the children in the village on the day of our annual Village fete, should we be allowed to have one this year. Donations like this from Taylor Wimpey make all the difference to what we can provide for the people of Roslin."

Kirsty McGill of Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, said: “Our Community Chest project with Roslin Village website was a great way to find out more about the groups and organisations that really do make a difference to the lives of people living in Roslin.
