Curling: Capital curlers set for action
Local skips Paul Stevenson and John Hamilton, plus a host of other Capital curlers, were set for action today on day one of the Edinburgh International at Murrayfield Ice Rink.
Stevenson plays Stranraer’s Frazer Hare in his first round robin match, while Hamilton takes on Italy’s Joel Retornaz.
Murrayfield’s Colin Dick is part of Jay McWilliam’s junior team which scored a shock win at last week’s Stirling Invitational, while Ross Hepburn and Edinburgh student Colin Howden will provide crucial back-up to David Smith and Graeme Black respectively. Colin Campbell, 2009 finalist, delivers the lead stones for David Edwards, who faces Lockerbie’s double world champion David Murdoch.
