Cycling: Paul out for more gold in Moscow

City of Edinburgh’s cycling sprint star John Paul launches his bid for World Junior Championship glory in Moscow tomorrow.

The 18-year-old, who landed gold medals in the individual sprint and the Keirin at last month’s Euro- pean competition in Portugal, takes to the track for sprint qualifying tomorrow morning, and will be followed by the early knockout rounds which will be contested throughout the day. The semi- finals and medal deciders will take place on Saturday.

Paul, who is also set to contest the Keirin on Sunday, is part of a British squad of only three riders that has made the trip.
