A MOTORCYCLE sensation from Danderhall has slipped into the fast lane of the sport after representing the famous Swan Yamaha team at Oulton Park last weekend.
Michael Robertson (24), climbed aboard one of the team’s finely tuned bikes for the latest round of the Metzeler National Superstock 600 Championship.
The outing, at which he qualified 24th and ended the race in 11th position, was a major accolade for the rising star. Team owner Shaun Muir had called him shortly after an impressive performance at Knockhill the previous weekend. The young rider’s second-place finish in Fife attracted the attention of the Swan Yamaha boss, who immediately asked for a copy of his CV.
Speaking to the Advertiser this week, Michael, of Maulsford Avenue, was keen to play down any speculation about his future. He said: “There has been talk of me riding their bikes, but nothing has been confirmed. Last weekend might end up being a one-off, but I am hoping I will be racing in the Swan Yamaha colours again at Brands Hatch.”
