Bonnyrigg manager Miller anticipates hard game against flying Forfar side

“Forfar West End were promoted to the Super League this season and it was a case of not knowing what they had in the locker for us. We lost 4-1 although the scoreline did flatter them,” he said.

“For a promoted side, they have done a terrific job and will no doubt still see themselves as possible title winners. It will be a hard game for both sides.

“The Super League is a tough league. Teams from the relegation zone can still take points from you.

“We had a poor start to the season and after last year we were determined we wouldn’t let that happen again. Luckily for us we look to be safe from relegation.

“I know it looks like we have a great chance to take the title but we only had safety in mind at the start.

“An outsider would say that the title is going to either Linlithgow or Bo’ness, but there are still a lot of games to go and if we are still in the mix at the end of the season, we would be delighted.”

Miller is full of admiration for the way his squad has performed through the season.

He said: “The players have done a great job this year, even if we walk away with nothing.

“The club hasn’t had its troubles to seek but the players have dug deep and worked away to get us where we are today.

“We have a good balance of youth and experience and that has brought us a quarter-final spot in the Scottish and second place in the Super League.

“We had a bad spell for a couple of weeks, first the disappointment of losing to Bo’ness in the Scottish and then losing at home to Broughty, but we bounced back last Saturday against Tayport. Teams can so often go into freefall after losing in the Scottish but, luckily for us, we didn’t.”

Bonnyrigg will be without Craig Fell as he continues his recovery from a broken ankle.

Miller said: We’ll have to concentrate on Saturday as they have some big players for them, like Brian Duell and Graeme Gibb. They can win games for them on their own. Hopefully, though, we can take the points and make it interesting at the top in the battle of the Roses.”

Elsewhere in the Super League, Musselburgh prepare for their Scottish Cup semi-final with a league game at home to Lochee United.

Davy McGlynn’s men now look safe from relegation and it will be interesting to see his line-up for this tussle as he wrestles with the dilemma of resting players ahead of the cup clash.

Lochee are always a threat and if Musselburgh are to take anything from the game, they will have to battle for it.

Bathgate travel to Tayport, who are in real danger of dropping back down to the Premier League after promotion at the start of this season.

Tayport will make it tough for Graeme Love’s side as they are past champions and are fighting for their league survival once again.

Bathgate themselves have had a bad run recently, losing 4-1 twice to Hill of Beath and Kelty, both at home.

Manager Love needs to stop the rot, starting at Canniepairt tomorrow.
