Campbell quits United job

EDINBURGH UNITED, sitting bottom of the East Region South Division, are looking for a new manager for the second time this season.

Barry Campbell, who took over the reins after Stephen Osbourne’s move to Arniston Rangers in the summer, resigned last night along with the other members of his coaching team.

“It was unworkable with the current committee at EU Juniors,” he said. “Particular committee members were not willing to allow us time to progress the team.

“We are 12 games into the season and there is still no budget.”

Revealing he would be remaining associated with the club’s youth set up, Campbell added: “The Juniors have not helped the pathway due to a short-sighted attitude.”

United have picked up just four points from their 11 league games this season and are sitting two points behind Harthill.
