After a 30 minute break for medics to attend to the player the second half got underway before Dalkeith lost an early goal as Edinburgh started the 2nd half well.

There were chances for both sides throughout the second half with both goalkeepers in excellent form, however Edinburgh maintained their lead, finishing 6-4 winners in the end.

Dalkeith manager Scott Steele felt his side were unlucky not no get back into the game having spurned several opportunities to score.

He said: “We never seemed to get the rub of the green today and the last 20 minutes summed it up for us, missing glorious chances to equalise and then hitting the inside of the post and the ball rolling along the line and into their goalie’s hands. However it was a team performance to forget today, not something we’ve seen much of this season, so it’s just about taking the defeat on the chin and remembering how the loss felt.”

Goalscorers for Dalkeith were Aitchison (3) and Laing (1)
