Dundonald 4-2 Easthouses Lily
Dundonald hosted Easthouses Lily in preliminary round two of the Scottish Cup with the match moved to Stark’s Park in Kirkcaldy due to Dundonald’s pitch being waterlogged.
The home side started the match slowly and gifted possession to Easthouses.
The visitors will feel they should have done better when a free kick rebounded to Russell but the striker pulled his shot wide.
Dundonald made Lily pay for their missed chance shortly afterwards.
A quick break down the left forced Easthouses to turn Sabanda’s cross over the crossbar for a corner.
The corner was cleared to the edge of the box before Mckenzie fired it back in.
His shot broke kindly to Webberburn inside the box who poked the ball into the net.
The visitors had a great chance to draw level when Dundonald’s stand in keeper Somerville’s clumsy tackle gave Easthouse a penalty.
The keeper made up for his error when he produced a fine save.
Dundonald were then forced to make a change when young striker Keirren Dall was carried off with a broken leg after a challenge with the visiting keeper.
The home side didn’t let this distract them because, when play resumed, Durie fired in from 35 yards to increase his side’s lead.
Three minutes into the second half Dundonald got their third when Strang set up Cargill for the easiest of finishes.
Mckenzie got goal number four when he headed home five minutes later.
Dundonald were reduced to ten men when keeper Somerville charged off his line and brought a Lily player down inside his box.
The visitors were awarded a penalty and the keeper recieved his second yellow card and was sent to the stands.
Lily scored with the penalty and,, ten minutes from time got another goal but it was too little too late.
Dundonald got off to a slow start but once they got into their stride there was only going to be one winner.
This weekend Easthouses Lily return to league action when they make the journey to meet Luncarty.
