East of Scotland clubs to vote on restart or null-and-voiding season
As things stand, outdoor contact sport is cleared to resume from May 17 2021, although there are calls to bring the return date forward to April 26.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon is due to confirm on April 20 which activities will be permitted from April 26 but with no significant changes to the league’s position since the last meeting, the EOSFL Board is recommending that the league be declared null and void.

Hide AdA statement read: “The Scottish Government published on April 2 updated guidance which permits outdoor professional sport and allows those involved to cross local authority boundaries to travel to train or compete.
"The League therefore this week requested permission to resume activities in accordance with this latest guidance but the Scottish FA replied to say the Scottish Government is signing off which levels of football are permitted and that does not include the EOSFL.
"This means there has been no significant advancement of the position since the last meeting and in the Board's opinion it is now not feasible to restart the season in time to complete 50 per cent of fixtures.
"The Board therefore recommends the League be declared null and void. Clubs are now asked to vote on whether to restart, knowing contact sport cannot currently start until May 17 at the earliest, or finalise the season.”
Clubs have until 4pm on Sunday to cast their vote.
