The Lowland League side grabbed the initiative in the third minute at Ainslie Park through Ross McNeil’s thunderbolt before the hosts drew level through Alan Reid’s own goal.

Second-half efforts from Robbie McIntyre and Josh Campbell sealed James McDonaugh’s men’s passage through.

“We were kind of down to the bare bones in terms of team selection so we didn’t have many options to change things,” McDonaugh said. “I thought we controlled the game from start to finish but it probably took until the second half to really show our goal threat. There were plenty of chances so the only disappointment was that we didn’t score more goals.

“No matter who you get in a cup tie it’s about getting through. The conditions made it really difficult with the ball moving all over the place so we’re happy to get through.”
