Current East of Scotland table-toppers Kelty Hearts’ weekend 3-1 win over Leith Athletic ensured the Fife side retain their 12-point lead over Raymond Carr’s men. However, the reigning league champions still have four games in hand after last night’s clash with Tynecastle was postponed. The two teams will try again tomorrow night.

Marc Molloy had given the hosts the lead on Saturday before Louis Swanson doubled their advantage from the penalty spot.

On-loan Spartans winger Jonny Grotlin halved the deficit ten minutes before the interval.

However, Lothian restored their two-goal advantage midway through the second half and it was Swanson again firing home from the penalty spot.

Dylan Moore’s brace added more gloss to the final scoreline.

Meanwhile, Ormiston lost 1-0 to Peebles Rovers at Whitestone Park but Tynecastle ran out 4-2 winners at Stirling University.

The visitors sailed into a two-goal lead through Ryan Mayer and Euan Greig. The students pulled one back but Dean Crabbe’s strike gave Stevie Vinter’s side a 3-1 lead at the break. Despite Stirling adding their second of the match, Crabbe’s second from the penalty spot wrapped up the points.
