Get in for free with fancy dress

Spartans are hoping to treat those who come along to watch their Hallowe’en encounter with Ormiston at Ainslie Park tonight (7.45pm) to some
entertaining football, with any spectators in fancy dress being given free entry.

This re-arranged game is an East of Scotland Qualifying League match which, to many observers, could be considered a “dead rubber”.

The Qualifying League section currently has Spartans sitting joint-top on points with Coldstream, but with a superior goal difference of plus four. A win, a draw or even a narrow defeat would see Spartans qualify for the first round of the League Cup, while a win for Ormiston by five clear goals or more would see Coldstream qualify.

Spartans manager Douglas Samuel said: “There is a big incentive for us to win the game as it would mean automatic qualification to the next round, which is effectively the quarter finals. We also want to keep our unbeaten run going and keep up our momentum after a tough game against Edinburgh University at the weekend.”

Samuel will be without Alasdair MacKinnon, Donal Henretty and Robbie Manson. For those not wearing a Halloween costume, adults will pay £5.00 entry, with concessions £2.00.
