Leith continued to push Gretna back but soon found themselves two behind when a cross by Sam Atkinson was headed on to David Renyard at the back post. The Gretna winger’s deft touch found a gap between keeper Ian Gordon and the post. Gretna were having the better of play at this point and goal number three came from a well worked move between Renyard and Joe Slattery with the latter firing home from just inside the area.

Leith were rewarded for their efforts when Willie Bremner found himself time to shoot from just inside the box beating Grant from 15 yards. Leith pulled another goal back after the break when Bremner headed home from a free-kick then, after Slattery was fouled on the edge of the box, Rea’s free-kick found the back of the net to put Gretna 4-2 up.
