With around 130 players in the Scottish Premiership out of contract at the end of the season there are a number who would be of interest to Hearts and Hibs. Daniel Stendel and Jack Ross will both likely be keen to reshape their squad in the summer and free agents could prove a useful way to do so without having to spend money or break budget.
1. Craig Gordon - Celtic
The Scotland international has revealed no discussions have taken place over a new deal. Gordon is keen to play first-team football and would likely want to stay in Scotland. A return to Hearts could be a possible option. Photo: SNS Group Rob Casey
2. Aaron McGowan - Hamilton Accies
The right-back has proved a shrewd signing for Accies, making the position his own across the past couple of seasons. Combative as a defender but also a useful attacking outlet. Photo: SNS Group Alan Harvey
3. Stephen O’Donnell - Kilmarnock
Following consistent displays over the past few years which has brought international recognition, the right-back is set for a move. Would be a coup by either Edinburgh side. Excellent attacking defender. Photo: Sammy Turner - SNS Group
4. Steve Lawson - Livingston
In the past 12 months the Togo international has gone from a key player in the Livi midfield to putting in impressive performances at right-back. Would offer clubs plenty of versatility and dynamism. Very direct in his style. Photo: Craig Foy - SNS Group
