@TalkinTynie: “Another win towards us leaving the diddy league.”

@RFBorthwick: “Ayr were extremely well organised and somehow even more defensive than Hopkin’s Morton team when we played them earlier in the season. Reasonably comfortable win in the end, could’ve been 4 or 5 with better finishing. Good win and one closer to getting out of this division.”

@ThisMyStoryPod: “Gnando and Walker, that is the tweet! Have a good Saturday! Gorgie Rules.”

@anasthejambo: “One win closer to promotion.”

@FredSked: “Great day's work: win, clean sheet and a consistent team selection. Nearly over the line.”

@SWhyte1874: “Job done. Good free kick for the opener and Walker needs to start.”

@The_Liam_Young: “Good win against a team who had zero interest in winning.”

@bw17_: “Long as Boyce, Nando and Walker play we might just be alright.”

@TS_Nicoll: “+3. Genuinely impressed by Ayr Utd's discipline and resilience today. They've got a good, young 'keeper too. Not easy to break down. Equally impressed with the patience and composure shown by #HMFC – no panic and two well taken goals… One hand on the trophy?”

@bil_irving: “Professional (without being spectacular) performance, and a clean sheet for Craig Gordon's 200th appearance. Two goals, could have been more (Kastaneer unlucky), and another three points. Happy Jambo.”

@donmcgrats: “Patience pays off. Excellent second half. Big Nando outstanding throughout and thoroughly deserved to get on the scoresheet. Sinisalo kept the score respectable for United – on another day that would have been 4 or 5.”

@jambof3tornado: “Huffed and puffed and walker made a difference once again.......I'm a big critic of his work rate at times but has to get a start next time out. 3 points in the bag, Craig Gordon wont need to wash his kit.”

@PaulMcM78: “Fantastic but I just wish we could have a 90 minute performance and are more attacking.”

@DanielHibbert51: “Again might not have been the performance we wanted, but kept going and it keeps us moving towards that trophy and promotion.”
