There may still be around four months of the season left for Hearts and Hibs, with plenty left to play for, but behind the scenes plans are likely already underway for next season. That will involve looking at possible signings. There are a host of players in the league whose contracts expire at the end of the season who could be useful additions.
5. Gary Dicker - Kilmarnock
Both Hearts and Hibs have missed a steadying and experienced presence like the Irishman in their respective midfields this campaign. Not a long-term solution but someone who knows what is required in Scottish football. Photo: Rob Casey - SNS Group
6. Drey Wright - St Johnstone
Tommy Wright has come out and urged Saints to tie the winger down having already witnessed Matty Kennedy leave. The player was the team’s best before injury last season. Photo: Ross MacDonald - SNS Group
7. Vaclav Hladky - St Mirren
The St Mirren star is one of the best goalkeepers in the league. If Hearts or Hibs were able to sign him they would be getting a bargain and someone they could possibly sell on for a seven-figure fee. Has a bit of everything. Photo: Ross Parker - SNS Group
8. Mickel Miller - Hamilton
Hibs had a deadline day bid rejected for the Accies star. The 24-year-old is a raw and wiry attacker but can play in a number of forward roles. Photo: SNS Group Ross MacDonald
