Hearts fans continue to show their backing for the club during such a period of controversy and uncertainty.

Despite having their demotion to the Championship confirmed by the SPFL last week, the club have announced that they have surpassed the 4,000 mark for season ticket sales.

There are still plenty of question marks about the 2020/21 campaign for the Jam Tarts in particular.

Chair Ann Budge has submitted plans for league reconstruction which would see Hearts continue in the Premiership, the start of the season could be postponed or played behind closed doors or, if the club are in the Championship there is speculation it may not start until October or November.

It hasn’t stopped fans digging deep to support the club.

On top of the 4,000 in season ticket sales, the Foundation of Hearts continue to see new pledges or supporters increase their pledge to the organisation.

There have been more than 1,000 extra pledges since March’s football shutdown.

FoH chairman Stuart Wallace told the Evening News “there is something pretty special going on”.

He said: “It’s the biggest uptake we think since the tribute shirt was announced [in September 2015]. We reached 8,200 at that point.

“If we can push towards 10,000 members, that would mean £2m a year for Hearts. We hand over around £1.5m a year as it stands and 10,000 members would push that up towards £2m a year. It’s an extra £500,000 for the club.”

The club also announced last week that the new home shirt was the best selling Umbro top during their partnership with Hearts.
