Hearts to learn Premier Sports Cup group stage opponents, how to watch League Cup draw

Hearts will learn their early season fixtures when the group stage of the Premier Sports Cup is made – but rivals Hibs are seeded and will sit-out the opening round-robin.

The group stages will be drawn next week at 1pm on Friday, May 28 live on FreesportsTV channel the cup sponsors’ online player plus the draw will also be streamed on SPFL Youtube.

Eight groups will be drawn for the season opening competition from the 37 SPFL clubs not in European competition next term – plus Highland League champions Brora Rangers Kelty Hearts from the Lowland League and runners-up East Kilbride who won their place by a coin toss with Fraserburgh who were second in the Highland League.

Groups of five will be regionalised and seeded based on league finish before the top five including Rangers, Celtic, Aberdeen, Hibs and holders St.Johnstone enter in the August knock-out stage.

Group games begin on the weekend of July 10 and 11 with five matchdays over two weeks.
