While fans may not have been overly enamoured with the performance they were delighted with the three points which means another step forward to the title and promotion back to the Premiership.

@HeartsRant: “FT: 0-1. 3 points bagged and out of Ayrshire pronto. 9 wins required (maximum) to seal the title. Onwards we go!”

@ThisMyStoryPod: “Job done. Boyce is stellar. McEneff showed enough in the 29 minutes to show he’ll be a real ballon d’or contender. GMS needs a rest or time to get fitness, he’s miles off it the now understandably. Liked the directness of Kastaner. Halliday better as well. 3points, move on”

@maroonspecs: “Hard to deduce much from a game that fell victim to the elements. Win, clean sheet, job done. Aaron McEneff looks like a promising acquisition on tonight's evidence.”

@Amoruso1998: “ Very professional display tonight which highlighted the value certain players bring when we need to dig in. Halliday, Walker & Boyce our 3 top players tonight and McEneff looked good on and off the ball.”

@cpfc_kris: “Will take that. Windy conditions were a great leveller tonight, coupled with the fact that that was probably the worst refereeing performance I've seen in a very, very long time. 3 points, job done.”

@donmcgrats: “Honkin weather for a game of football. Hearts dealt far better with the wind at their back than United. New boys looked promising, especially McEneff who has a great first touch and pops up all over the park. 3 points, job done, bring on QOS.”

@bil_irving: “These are just the kind of games we would have lost last season. Same with last week. We won both, so that's progress. Terrible conditions make it impossible to really point the finger at anyone being especially good or bad, so we move on. Well done Hearts.”

@therichardcobb: “Stuffy and eye-bleeding game but it’s a win and a clean sheet. Next.”

@RossW_Mc: “Dominated the second half, although we tried to chuck it away a few times tough conditions to play in the wind is underrated how much it effects the play, another win towards getting back where we belong.”
