Last time out, Hearts drew with Greenock Morton at Tynecastle, following on from the 1-1 draw at Queen of the South.

Neilson has sought consistency with selection, naming the same starting XI for consecutive games since the final two games of his first spell in charge when Hearts defeated Motherwell and Rangers 3-0 and 2-0 consecutively in back-to-back Tynecastle fixtures.

The Tynecastle manager hasn’t been helped throughout the season by injuries, international call-ups and giving players game time in the Betfred Cup.

It means Jamie Walker takes a place on the bench despite last week’s impressive performance off the bench.

@Amoruso1998: “Given recent mixed performances this may be seen as the wrong time for continuity in team selection but our play in 1st half last week was decent bar poor decision making in the final third - hopefully sticking with wide men will give them confidence they both need to find form.”

@GraemeBrogan: “For the life of me I have absolutely no idea why Walker isn’t the first name on the team sheet.”

@MatthewHarold83: “And you wonder why Andy Irving hasn't signed a new contract.”

@McIverTheMark: “Happy with this. Walker has failed every time hes been in the starting 11 and done well every time hes been on the bench. Glad to see he's not starting and can come on later.”

@FegBizet: “Walker and Irving on the bench again. Feels like we’re being actively trolled at this point.”

@SGetcha: “Naisy over Walker is a weird one. Unless he thinks Jamie is an impact player now.”

@keithj70: “Too many armchair managers on here, most haven’t got a clue, this season all about just getting promoted, doesn’t matter how we do it but as long as we do. Just my opinion obviously but ffs give it a rest with the negative s***e. Hearts fans can be pathetic sometimes.”

@LewisAdair2: “Same team this week.. Sorry but need to change it.. Walker should be starting.. Don't wanna hear he's better coming off the bench. Better having him impact the game from the start.. Losing a little faith in the gaffa”
