It was another busy day in the Capital on Thursday as the transfer window heats up. Hearts made a key announcement with the contract renewal of Michael Smith which went down very well with supporters. Around the same time it was also announced that three players were to have loan spells in the second half of the season. Connor Smith was moved from Abroath to Cove Rangers where he was joined by Cammy Logan, while Colin Doyle extended his stay at Kilmarnock.

At Hibs, Jack Ross confirmed his desire to add to the goalkeeping department and also revealed there had been no approaches for Kevin Nisbet. For Edinburgh City, they are preparing for their Scottish Cup tie with Airdrieonians after their previous match with Cowdenbeath was called off.
