With goalkeeper Jake Eastwood, signed by Kilmarnock in the summer to be the No.1, fit again for a place on the bench following an injury sustained in the opening day loss to Hibs, Colin Doyle didn't make the 20-man squad as Kilmarnock went down 1-0 to St Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership.

Teenage midfielder Connor Smith was an unused substitute as Arbroath drew 1-1 in their Championship encounter with Queen of the South.

Fellow midfield prospect Harry Cochrane started and played 79 minutes as Montrose defeated Peterhead 3-2 at Links Park. The victory pushed the Gable Endies level on points with Dumbarton in third place in League One.

Speaking of Dumbarton, Chris Hamilton played the full game in their loss to East Fife. The centre-back has been playing attacking midfield for the League One side most of this season, though he was moved into the back four in Fife following an injury to Rico Quitongo, son of former Hearts hero Jose.

One week after an SPFL Team of the Week berth for scoring in Brechin's 2-0 win at Albion Rovers, Leeroy Makovora and his team-mates came back down to earth with a bump as the League Two side were thumped 5-0 at home by Stirling Albion.

In the Lowland League, Harry Stone was in goal as Spartans lost 3-1 to BSC Glasgow, while Jay Sanidson started for Linlithgow Rose in their 0-0 East of Scotland League draw with Jeanfield.
