“We know what we have to do and that is to get the show back on the road by coming out of the traps quickly and playing the game at a high tempo,” stressed Renwick. “Against Eyemouth we were physically a wee bit short although our goalkeeper did not have to make a save yet we lost two goals. Eyemouth were a team of experienced men and we struggled with that aspect although it is part of our players’ development.

“We still tried to play the correct way and that has given us success so far this season. It was a disappointing result – especially at home – where we need to make our pitch as big as possible with the way we pass the ball.”

Renwick focused his attention on Ormiston by saying: “They have had a few defeats recently and will be hurting. Ormiston will have pride to play for but we want to try to get back to winning ways because there are so many teams beating each other. There is not much scope for us to lose too many more games if we have aspirations of not just being promoted but trying to win the league title. Our target is to take the maximum nine points between now and Christmas. That’s the challenge the players have been set.”

Renwick will be without Gavin Main (thigh), Chris Rae and David Kerr (hamstrings) while Banji Koya is still recuperating and will not feature. Ormiston, meanwhile, welcome back Brian McEwan and Stewart Fisher from suspension.
