The success, which comes just over six months since the club’s men won the Scottish Cup for the first time in 114 years, adds to their League Cup win earlier this season.

Hibs had taken the lead thanks to Lisa Robertson’s first-half header before Hayley Lauder levelled matters for Glasgow City. There was no more scoring through the rest of the 90 minutes and extra time.

In the penalty shoot-out, both Robertson and Lauder missed their efforts, with Samantha Kerr’s failed attempt for City proving crucial.
