Hibs v Hamilton: Match preview and probable line-ups

Hibs welcome Hamilton to Easter Road this evening hoping to build on the hard-fought three points against Partick Thistle and keep the pressure on Aberdeen and Rangers.

Rangers aren’t in action this evening and Aberdeen travel to Lanarkshire to face Stephen Robinson’s Motherwell.

Hibs have welcomed back Vykintas Slivka from injury - the Lithuanian international was named among the substitutes against the Jags - but Cammy Bell, who deputised for the suspended Ofir Marciano at the weekend will likely miss the visit of Hamilton with a calf injury. Under-20s ‘keeper Kevin Dabrowski is in line for a seat on the bench.

Also sidelined are fellow goalkeeper Ross Laidlaw (shoulder), while David Gray is still recovering from the Achilles injury he sustained during the club’s winter training camp in Portugal.

Brandon Barker and on-loan defender Faycal Rherras are both out with hamstring complaints, while John McGinn serves the second of a two-match ban for accruing 12 yellow cards so far this season, so Marvin Bartley is expected to continue in the middle of the park alongside Dylan McGeouch, although Steven Whittaker and the fit-again Slivka offer options for Neil Lennon.

Accies boss Martin Canning also has his fair share of injury concerns, with back-up ‘keeper Darren Jamieson sidelined after sustaining a broken cheekbone in a development league match.

Ali Crawford is still making a comeback from a groin injury, while Alex Gogic (knee) and David Templeton are also unlikely to feature.

Canning could stick with the same starting line-up that lost 2-0 at Kilmarnock, but he does have the likes of Darren Lyon, Danny Redmond, Marios Ogkmpoe and Rakish Bingham if he chooses to shuffle his pack.

Hamilton will fancy their chances, however - they haven’t lost on league duty to Hibs since March 2011 and their last loss in Leith came on 23 January 2010, when doubles by Anthony Stokes and Derek Riordan, plus a Colin Nish opener, gave Hibs a 5-1 win over Accies, whose consolation was netted by Flavio Paixao.

Indeed, Accies registered a 3-1 win over Hibs last time they came to the Capital with a brace from Rakish Bingham and a third from Louis Longridge ensuring they returned to New Douglas Park with the three points.
