Hibs are without Alex Gogic for the visit of Aberdeen after the Cypriot midfielder revealed he was self-isolating for ten days.

The Easter Road side confirmed on Sunday morning that a member of the playing staff had been advised to spend ten days in self-isolation after a routine coronavirus test had “required further investigation”.

Subsequent tests had returned negative results but the Scottish FA and Scottish Government advised the club and player that a period of self-isolation should be completed.

Gogic, who has started all five of Hibs’ Scottish Premiership matches so far this season, confirmed the news on social media.

Gogic tweeted: “So disappointed to be missing out on a big game today, especially after my follow-up tests came back negative.

“Health comes first and thankfully everyone in my house is also negative.

“Good luck to the boys. I'll be cheering you on from the house. See you soon!”

The self-isolation period will also rule the former Hamilton man out of his country’s Nations League games against Montenegro and Azerbaijan, just days after he received his first call-up to the senior national squad.

Gogic’s enforced absence has handed Swedish midfielder Melker Hallberg his first start of the campaign in the Hibs midfield

New signing Jamie Murphy is named among the susbstitutes.
