Christian Doidge is very much an option for Wales ahead of their Euro 2020 warm-up games, according to manager Ryan Giggs.

The Hibs striker has hit 17 goals in all competitions this season including two hat-tricks and is firmly on the national team's radar.

Revealing that he had personally watched the 27-year-old during his stint at Bolton Wanderers around 18 months ago, Giggs added: "He came on with ten minutes to go, which has been the case a lot of times.

"He's someone who is scoring goals," Giggs told Clwb Pel Droed. "When you have a goalscorer, it doesn’t matter what level, they know where the back of the net is.

“He’s someone who we’re looking at closely over the next few weeks, obviously with the games coming up.”

Wales play Austria at the Liberty Stadium and the USA at the Cardiff City Stadium in two matches at the end of March, before travelling to Rotterdam to face the Netherlands in early June as part of the nation's final preparations for Euro 2020.

Doidge has been capped by Wales at basketball, but is yet to represent his country at any level in football. That could all change if he maintains his form ahead of the three friendly matches.
