Florian Kamberi has sent a message to Hibs fans after sealing a return to Switzerland with Super League runners-up St Gallen.

The 25-year-old signed a three-year deal earlier today after two and a half years in Scottish football with the Capital club and Rangers.

Writing on Instagram, Kamberi said: “It’s been a quick two-and-a-half years in Scotland and now it's time for me to move onto a new challenge in my homeland.

"Thanks to everyone at Hibs for giving me the chance to live and work in a great city, and to Rangers for the great opportunity and experience.

"A special thanks to both sets of fans for the great support. Good luck to both teams for the future.”

Kamberi joined Rangers on loan in January but returned to pre-season training with the Easter Road side earlier this summer.

However, he was not involved in any pre-season matches and was allowed to return home to Switzerland when Hibs head coach Jack Ross confirmed he was not part of his plans for the 2020/21 campaign.

Hibs are understood to have recouped the transfer fee they paid for the player when he joined on a permanent deal from Grasshoppers in the summer of 2018, and will benefit from a sell-on clause if Kamberi moves on from St Gallen.
