Hearts and Hibs pay tribute to Prince Philip after Duke of Edinburgh dies aged 99
The Easter Road club issued a short statement on Twitter saying they were "saddened" after the news was announced by Buckingham Palace.
The tweet read: “Everyone at Hibernian Football Club is saddened to learn of the passing of His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh who had such a wonderful affinity with our city.

Hearts soon followed that up with their own tribute. The official Twitter account tweeted: “Everyone at Heart of Midlothian Football Club is saddened by the passing of Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh.
“We extend our sympathies to Her Majesty The Queen and the Royal Family at this difficult time.”
The husband of Queen Elizabeth II for 73 years is said to have passed away “peacefully” at Windsor Castle this morning.
