Hibs announce Academy appointments as Civil Service Strollers boss takes coaching role

Jardine, who took three Hibs youngsters including Ryan Porteous on loan during his time as Edinburgh City boss, will work with the Easter Road side until the resumption of the Lower League in the summer.
The division was suspended by the Scottish FA in January due to the escalating Covid-19 pandemic and a majority of clubs voted to end the season on a points-per-game basis, with Kelty Hearts crowned champions.

Hide AdStrollers – who have taken a host of Hibs youngsters on loan during Jardine’s tenure at Christie Gillies Park – finished in tenth place, with Easter Road kids Connor Young and Jack Brydon, now turning out for Stenhousemuir, featuring prior to the season being curtailed.
Murray
Jardine will be working alongside Kevin Bracks with the club’s Under-14s while former development team head coach Grant Murray who led the side to a league and cup double in 2017/18, will combine his assistant manager duties at Edinburgh City with a coaching role with ex-Hibs striker Colin Nish’s Under-16 group.
As well as Jardine and Murray the club has appointed Dan Curnyn, a coach with plenty of experience working with junior academy-aged children, and John Divers who has held previous coaching roles with Queen’s Park, Motherwell, and St Mirren.
Curnyn spent time working as a Club and Community Football Officer in Perth and Kinross, working with local clubs Auchterarder CFC, Jeanfield Swifts CFC, Kinross Colts CFC, and Scone Thistle Community Club.

Hide AdSporting Director Graeme Mathie said: “We are delighted to confirm the new coaching structure which comes at a good time prior to the recommencement of Academy matches at the start of May and is part of an ongoing upscaling of the staffing structure within the Academy.
"Dan, John and Gary all bring different experiences and energies to our current coaching team and their involvement will undoubtedly benefit the players at the club.
"We had a large number of applications for the roles and also had input from educational psychologist Lynne Binnie, who was able to apply her knowledge from education to the coaches’ sessions and give us valuable feedback as part of the process."
