Centre-back Porteous, who has been capped by Scotland at Under-21 level, emerged as a reported target for English Championship side Millwall, while Birmingham and Sunderland were among the clubs sniffing around top-scorer Nisbet.
But speaking ahead of the Capital club's Scottish Premiership clash against Dundee United at Tannadice on Saturday, the Hibs head coach sought to play down talk of an imminent exit for either player, but admitted that nothing was certain regarding the pair remaining at Easter Road beyond the transfer deadline.

Hide AdRoss said: “The club has had some stronger interest in both [Kevin and Ryan] over the last couple of days, but both players trained this morning and both of them are in the squad for tomorrow’s game.
"I don’t see that changing in the next 24 hours but I can’t say for certain.”
