The four-man shortlist has been released and features Steven Gerrard, who led Rangers to the Premiership, Livingston’s David Martindale, St Johnstone’s Betfred Cup-winning manager Callum Davidson and Raith Rovers boss John McGlynn.

Ross has just led Hibs to their first third-place finish since 2005, steered the club to the last-four of the Betfred Cup and is 90 minutes away from winning the Scottish Cup.

It is the 44-year-old’s first full season at Easter Road having replaced Paul Heckingbottom last season.

The 11 away wins is the most won by Hibs in a single top-flight season in their history.

Ross has built a formidable side at Easter Road and they saw off the threat of Aberdeen during the week with a spirited 1-0 win at Pittodrie.

With just Celtic to play in the league at the weekend, the team are close to achieving one of the most successful seasons since the 1950s.
