Club captain David Gray hasn’t been listed in the matchday squad since the 2-0 home win against Kilmarnock on January 16 when he was an unused substitute.

The 32-year-old was omitted from the Betfred Cup semi-final squad and wasn’t listed either for the games against Rangers on January 27 or Dundee United on Saturday January 30.

Gray has played in three Betfred Cup group games but his only league appearance was as an 80th minute substitute in the 2-2 draw with Celtic in November.

While fans have more or less agreed with the decision not to change a winning team, there have been questions about the whereabouts of the skipper.

Kris Murdy wrote: “Club captain still not in the squad. Nothing short of an absolute shambles by the way.”

Other supporters called on the club to provide an update on the captain but most were happy to see consistency in team selection.

Christopher Black tweeted: “Winning side and folk complaining that we are no making changes. Got to love Hibs fans!”

David Smith added: “I'd have been more concerned if Nisbet was nowhere to be seen. Hopefully he comes on and sticks one away to show he's a professional and not a spoilt little brat.”

Stephen Gilmour added: “Correct team for me; big performance needed tonight."

Jordan Brown said: “Unchanged - and rightly so! Why change a winning team. Correct decision from Jack Ross.”
