It wasn’t pretty but I’ll take that win at Tannadice any day of the week. They say if you can play ugly and win it’s the sign of a good side and with Hibs enjoying their best start since Turnbull’s team way back in 1974, it says a lot about the group of players we have.

These wins help build momentum and keep us going for a European spot, and with the extra place up for grabs it’s always good to be ahead of the pack. Tannadice is never easy and one piece of magic from Christian Doidge was really the only difference between us.

Motherwell will be desperate for a win after a poor start to their league campaign. Sitting eighth with only one point has surprised a few, me included, but they will be right up for this one.

I still can’t see past a Hibs win though, and if Jack Ross can play pretty much the same team I think we’ll continue our great start and take all three points. Prediction: Hibs 2-0 Motherwell

Tuesday night's win over Dundee United wasn't pretty, but then winning ugly is the sign of champions, isn't it? On a more serious tone, we can be nothing short of delighted with the start to the season.

We now welcome Motherwell to Easter Road and at risk of repeating myself, if we play to our fullest, we should win. Motherwell have had a poor start to the season, but the signing of Stephen O'Donnell is annoyingly good and should give them more options going forward from full-back. Stephen Robinson has questioned his players so we may see a reaction today. I fancy Alex Gogic and Joe Newell to share the responsibility of denying David Turnbull the opportunity to shine.

Every player this season has looked confident, but special mention has to go to Josh Doig who looks extremely comfortable at left-back, defending astutely as well as offering attacking options. Let's hope he gets more chances to show this side of his game off on Saturday. Come Saturday night, we will hopefully be back on top of the league looking down on the rest.

Prediction: Hibs 2-1 Motherwell

Pre-lockdown, Hibs would most likely have lost that match with Dundee United and the sign of any good team throughout history is the ability to win games when they’re not at their best.

Josh Doig was the standout on Tuesday night. It’s still early days but his potential is huge and he has a great mentor in Lewis Stevenson. Credit has to go to Christian Doidge who works tirelessly every game and thoroughly deserved what was an excellent finish from an acute angle following some excellent wing play from Doig.

This isn’t the strongest Motherwell side Stephen Robinson has had over the last few years, so I would expect Hibs to get the three points providing we turn up with the right attitude. I did see a fragility in midfield at Tannadice so for that reason Scott Allan would be my preferred partner for Alex Gogic. He has the ability to win a game through moments of magic only he can produce.Prediction: Hibs 3-1 Motherwell

Nine points out of nine. Who would’ve thought it? We’ve seen a mixture of performances from swashbuckling football at Livingston to backs-against-the-wall stuff at Dundee United. Motherwell got their first point of the season on Wednesday with Steven Robinson getting stuck into them after the game.

Will this give them the spark they need? They certainly have lots of talent in the team.

Hibs may start how we ended the United game, playing a 3-5-2.

It certainly has the makings of an entertaining game, although so did Tuesday night and that didn’t quite live up to expectations. Nevertheless I expect to see more goals, with Hibs doing just enough. Prediction: Hibs 2-1 Motherwell

Steven Nicholson, Hibs fan

Quality was lacking in the first half of the win against Dundee United although switching to a 3-5-2 allowed Scott Allan to be brought on and find little pockets of space to give something different for United to think about.

While it wasn’t Allan involved in the Hibs goal, it was a quick ball up the side from the ever impressive Paul McGinn to get the move underway. Doidge showed a real striker's instinct to smash the ball home no doubt increasing his value.

Next up, Motherwell at Easter Road. We will need to find more fluidity than Tuesday as I do think Motherwell are a little more street wise and dangerous on the attack. Tough game for me.

Prediction: Hibs 1 – 1 Motherwell.

Hibs have won their opening three games of the season, the first time that this has happened since Eddie Turnbull’s team of 1974. Can we make it four on the bounce against Motherwell on Saturday? With the defence still to concede from open play, Hibs have given their flair players a platform to showcase their talents. Jack Ross has once again shown he has the personnel and tactical awareness to change systems and formations when the game dictates.

Tuesday evening’s game was a scrappy affair but on balance, we deserved the win. Motherwell should be another difficult test as they try to get back to winning ways,. David Turnbull and Allan Campbell are looking particularly good in their midfield.

I’m expecting Hibs to start the game with a back three with Scott Allan in for Daryl Horgan and Joe Newell fit to start.

Like most Hibs fans, I'm excited to see how the partnership between Christian Doidge and Kevin Nisbet continues to flourish. Prediction: Hibs 2-1 Motherwell
