Hibs’ clash with Rapid to be all-ticket

Hibs have revealed their first pre-season friendly against Romanian outfit Rapid Bucharest will be all-ticket.

The game, which is to be played at the Grangemouth Stadium next Wednesday, will give fans the first opportunity to see Pat Fenlon’s summer signings Tim Clancy and Paul Cairney in action, along with skipper James McPake, who has rejoined the club for a second time having impressed hugely during last season’s loan spell in Edinburgh.

Rapid have chosen Scotland as they prepare for the Europa League qualifiers. They are due to enter the competition in the second qualifying round, having finished fourth in their domestic league.

Given Rapid also reached the group stages of last season’s Europa League, although they finished bottom of a section topped by PSV Eindhoven, the Romanians promise to provide Pat Fenlon’s players with tough opposition, particularly in a first outing,

However, as the Grangemouth Stadium’s capacity is restricted to just 3500, the precaution has been taken of making admission by ticket only.

On the night, entry to the ground’s stand, which holds around 1200, will be on a first-come, first-served basis for the match which kicks off at 7.30pm.

Tickets can only be bought from Hibs’ own ticket office and cost £10 for adults and £5 for concessions (16 or under and 65 and over). The ticket office will be open from noon to 5pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 5pm on Saturday.

Grangemouth Stadium will also be the venue for Rapid’s other friendlies against Scottish opposition, the Romanians facing Livingston on Saturday (kick-off 2pm) and Motherwell on Monday (7pm).
