Kilmarnock 1 - 1 Hibernian: Hibs fan zone

Lee Hoskins, Tranent: “I think a draw was a fair result for both teams. Hibs looked good in the first half and Doyle took his goal well. The second half was pretty uneventful but Hibs defended well and had Cairney taken his chance they could have won it. I thought the referee was useless and the booking for Cairney was wrong as he was clearly fouled. At least we have managed a point away from home and Hibs now need to build on this result and keep picking up the points in the upcoming games.”

Peter Dryburgh, Colinton: “I thought Leigh Griffiths worked really hard throughout the match and he set up Doyle for the goal. He showed some great touches and looked a lot fitter than he has in recent games. We were unlucky not to win the match but have to be happy with a point. Griffiths and Doyle looked sharp up front and Cairney was really unlucky not to score when his shot was cleared off the line. The defence were caught out with Kilmarnock’s goal but recovered and looked a lot stronger than they have for a few weeks.”

Colin Fairley, Lochend: “Kenny Shiels can have no complaints after this game. Kilmarnock were lucky to get away with a draw as Hibs looked the better team especially in the second half. Hibs have at least managed to stop the rot after the last few weeks and I suppose a point is not too bad. I thought that Fenlon had his tactics right this week and if we would only be a bit more positive going forward and play the ball on the ground to Doyle and Griffiths quicker then we will get back to winning ways.”

Brian Westwater, Leith: “For me the man of the match was Lewis Stevenson. He was full of running yesterday and his defensive positioning was much better. Even after 90 minutes he still had the stamina to make a 40-yard attacking run and it was pleasing to see him pushing forward. At times Hibs tried to pass the ball into the net rather than have go and I felt we should have got the ball forward a lot quicker than we did. Good to see Gary Deegan back and once he gets a few games under his belt and gets fully fit he will bolster the midfield again.”

John Cooper, Baberton: “We always find it difficult to come away from Rugby Park with three points so I’m fairly happy with a draw, especially after going behind inside the first five minutes. Stevenson had a good game in defence and tried to push on and support the midfield. It was poor defending again that cost us the goal and we need to strengthen the defence in the transfer window to stop conceding sloppy goals. Hibs look okay up front and in midfield but the defence is very poor.”

James Mcleod, Wester hailes: “A point away from home is not a bad result and with a bit of luck we could have had the three points. Hibs tried hard but Kilmarnock defended well and a draw was probably a fair result. We still ended up sending high balls up front which our small attackers have no chance of winning. It might have been a better idea to have Kuqi on earlier to give us another option but he only ever seems to get a few minutes on the park and we have never really seen what he is capable of.”
