Michael Weir: Jamie Murphy has what it takes to fire Hibs to success
I thought Magennis did reasonably well against Ross County; you can see he's got something to give.
It will take a wee bit of time for him to get up to speed – I don't think you can ever judge a player on their first game, or their first start for a club.

Speaking of threats and goals, I think Jamie Murphy is a very good football player and it’s been unfortunate that he's had one or two injuries since joining.
He's got a big part to play if Hibs can keep him fit. He's a very good player, he's got good experience, and he's the one that can definitely turn Hibs' season and keep them going.
They have to keep him fit and keep him on the pitch because he has the quality to cause problems for any team in this division.

There are some games in which the manager just has to find a way to win at certain venues or select the right team to win at a particular stadium. These are the matches where it's not going to be a pretty game of football but sometimes it's just about winning and putting out a side that’s capable of getting a result.
Kilmarnock have started picking up results and they can be quite potent at home - Rugby Park is not an easy place to go to but Jack Ross has already found ways to win at similarly tough venues where Hibs have struggled in the past such as Livingston and Dundee United so here's hoping he can do it again next week.
That’s why the Ross County result was so disappointing. It’s another stadium where some teams struggle but they’ve already lost to Aberdeen, Celtic, and Dundee United and you would have expected Hibs to do the same.

It can be difficult if players aren't training as hard as they normally do or are maybe a bit worried about their health.
Doig has done really well so far, and I think he'll come again but the manager has to decide on a team that's capable of getting results in the scrappy games.
He managed it earlier in the season but it's a matter of getting the right side and the right formula to play against Kilarnock on that plastic pitch.

It might not be pretty but come the end of the season, these are the games and points that can make a big difference.
