You can't just flick a switch in football and expect players to be flying after months of uncertainty.

Early season form is, in my opinion, immaterial. It's a long, hard season and getting points on the board early on is a bonus.

It would be great to get a good performance this early in the season but it's all about the three points for me.

It's important for the Hibs players to look at the positives and think, 'we've not really performed but we've still got the result'.

Inactivity for such a long period of time, then coming back and training and going straight into games won't have been easy on the players.

There are a lot of players at all clubs, not just at Hibs, still trying to find their match fitness and I think we're about three or four weeks off teams being at their best.

It's looking like a bit of a struggle for all teams at the moment but Hibs just have to make sure they get the points from games and that's what they did at McDiarmid Park.

I don't really understand fans complaining that the side didn't play that well when Hibs are still undefeated in five games and they got the three points and another clean sheet.

Sometimes you won't get a display to match the result, but the good performances will come.

Football is a results business, especially when you're still trying to get over the long period of inactivity.

A few Hibs players look to have a bit to go before they're firing on all cylinders, but I think they'd take the result all day long.

When you're trying to build a football club, the only thing that makes you a good team is winning football matches.

Results will bring confidence and an arrogance to your play. Everything starts from winning.

That's what Hibs are doing at the moment. There's still a long way to go but Hibs should be thankful for having so many points on the board already.

If they get stronger as the season goes on then the games they are managing to just win at the moment are vital.
