'My dog's crying now', 'powderpuff everywhere' - Hibs fans react to Friday night defeat to Aberdeen

Hibs fans were understandably not a happy bunch following the Easter Road side’s meek defeat in the northeast.

Early goals from Scott Wright and Sam Cosgrove on five and 13 minutes did the damage, with the yellow-clad Hibees failing to really trouble the hosts for the remainder of the game

Here’s what the supporters had to say…

Stephen Lennon wrote: “Nowhere near good enough. Powderpuff everywhere. Loads of possession in safe areas. Soft at the back and created nothing. Pathetic.”

Paul Stevenson added: “We are just not good enough to beat Aberdeen; we have good players but we don't have class players to get ourselves in the top three.”

Jamie McKenzie tweeted: “Needed a big reaction after last week and that was pathetic. Players need to take a look in the mirror. Bottle merchants against that lot every time. McInnes must love seeing us up next on the fixture list.”

Mark Blyth suggested: “Boyle needs dropping for me as he has been nowhere near good enough since he signed his new contract. The team as a whole need to refocus on the targets for this season.”

David Pryde said: “Gotta love some Hibs fans like, think changing manager all the time will work… he can only play with what he has at his disposal on the park.”

Duncan Hotchkiss added: “Cheers, my dog’s crying now.”

Grant Porteous tweeted: “Accepted defeat at half time I see!”

Michael Hansborough branded the performance “gutless”, adding: “No fight, desire, or passion.”

John Mitchell wasn’t happy: “Absolutely gutless p*sh. Hibs haven’t got near them in two games. What a reaction after last week, eh? Too many players know that their place is guaranteed no matter how they perform.”

Lee Waton wrote: “Can someone let Jack Ross know there’s more than one formation that he can use?”

Steve McKenzie was hacked off: “Thanks for the reaction to losing the semi final. Gutless wonders. Pathetic.”

Kenny Murphy wrote: “No reaction whatsoever to a derby semi-final defeat. Still it's "fine lines" and "just another game". Too many automatic starters in that team. And too many that have started to believe their own press. Managed by a manager that struggles to get results in bigger games.”
