Colin Wright was staying level-headed: “Another three points in game two for the Hibees against Livingston and top of the league. Let’s keep it going and win the next game.”

Alicia Souter wrote: “Every single player was tremendous. Rocky, Hanlon, McGinn, and Porto were so solid and Doig was amazing yet again. Newell and Gogic were unreal today and as for Horgan’s link-up play with Nisbet… Boyle and Doidge were probably the most quiet and even they were fantastic.”

Sean Purves lodged his tongue firmly in his cheek, adding: “Derby win for the Hibees.”

Last word to Kevin Nisbet’s brother Craig, who tweeted him to say: “Well done bro, mum says you’ve to grab ice cream on the way home for dinner tonight.”
