Last month Hibs CEO Leeann Dempster confirmed she would be departing Easter Road after a successful six years.

The news was met with dismay by many Hibees who held Dempster in high regard.

In football, it’s a rare sight to see a figure so universally loved as she was and replacing her adequately could be one of Hibs toughest tasks in the coming months. One thing is for sure, she certainly set a high bench mark for her predecessor to follow.

We asked you to some up your feelings on her time at the club and the tributes poured in for her on our dedicated Hibs Facebook page this week.

Hibs legend Michael Weir had earlier written in his EEN column that “you don't often realise how good people like Leeann Dempster are until they are away” and it’s safe to say the Easter Road faithful echoed Weir’s comments.

‘She brought pride and credibility back to Hibs’

“She was professional, talented and valued” responded Alistair Adams, while Andy Watts said that Dempster was a “class act”.

Graeme Barclay commented “she was magnificent during her time at Hibs and will be missed by most”, a sentiment that was echoed by Phyllis Keenan who simply said “she'll be missed”.

Many also thanked her for bringing success to Hibs in the shape of the Scottish Cup in 2016, with many claiming her ambition and the hope she gave with it will leave a lasting legacy few will match.

Dave Polson commented she “gave the clue the feel good factor again”, and Stevie Reynolds added “she made us stronger”, William White gave huge praise to the CEO saying Dempster was “Hibs best signing of recent years.”

George Cruickshank was also complimentary of her time at Hibs, calling her “a true professional”.

However, it was Hibee fan Jill Archibald that perhaps summed up Dempster’s six years at Easter Road, saying “the woman meant business – and delivered”.
