@HowieRobbie: “Played well enough, decent in the first half and had some good chances, Rangers had all the possession second half but I felt fairly comfortable till they scored. Move on to next game, anything would have been a bonus tonight."

@KM1875: “Good first half but struggled in the second.”

@JackMcNeill1875: “Unlucky lads, better than before. We move on.”

@HibsCentral: “Poor defending costs us once again.”

@Erskine_Hibby claimed: “Poor attack cost us" while @AidanCameron9 said: "Defence not good enough again."

Allay McGaughey opined: "We have been very lacklustre since the winter break. I can't understand why Jack Ross never thought, 'let's have a go at them,' that was an embarrassing performance. I get that teams do what they need to to get points on the board but at least have a f****** go and get out your half."

Natalie Eadie wrote: "Things will only change when Hibs decide to drop Stevenson and Hanlon and move on. Too many goals conceded and basic errors. Not saying full blame always goes on them but Hibs need to strengthen the back and get some younger talent in there. Frustrating to watch every week!"

Ben Cowan said similar: "Could have been worse did well to hang on but Hanlon, Stevenson and McGregor must be replaced in the summer."

Writing on Hibs.net, Jonnnyboy summed up: "Hibs may not have taken anything from Ibrox tonight but I did. I came away immensely proud of Hibs’ performance and disappointed that we didn’t earn the point I felt our display deserved. It was backs to the wall at times but I thought we had a great shape which the hosts struggled to break down."

number9dream added: "I'm surprised there weren't any midfield changes once we got to 70-75 minutes since we were so overrun. Hallberg for Allan seemed like an obvious swap if the idea was just to try and tough it out."

Since452 reckoned: "Excellent first half but conceding in first half injury time gave them all the momentum. I don't think we'd have lost the game if we'd gone in ahead."

Last word to Captain Trips, who said: "The first half was excellent from Jack Ross and the team. Just think in second half we allowed the desperation of Rangers to pin us back when I think we were giving as good as getting. Paul McGinn looked like he had been in the defence for years and this could well be one of our best signings.

"Good to see a tall striker actually win headers the big man worked all night. Just wished we pushed back a bit more in 2nd half and we might have nicked it."
