Bonnyrigg Rose thank out-going loan trio
Bonnyrigg Rose have praised the attitude shown by three loan players who have now returned to their parent clubs.
The club announced this week that João Baldé, Alassan Jones and Leo Watson have all departed New Dundas Park after short spells on loan with the side.
Bonnyrigg, plus all other clubs from outwith Scotland’s top two tiers face an extended spell on the sidelines with football now not anticipated to return until mid-February at the earliest.
Hopes of a proposed February 6 re-start were dashed this week.
Rose confirmed: “All three players came in at a period when we were extremely short on numbers and each displayed an exemplary attitude during their time at the Rose. They are a credit to themselves and their clubs and we wish them all the very best in their future careers.
"We would also like to thank Heart of Midlothian and Livingston for allowing us to have them at the club.”
Baldé made seven appearances, five as sub, and scored one goal.
Jones played five times in the red and white hoops, four coming from the bench and Watson appeared six times, once as a sub.
Although Rose have lost the three players, one making his way back to New Dundas Park is Nicky Weir who has returned to the club’s first team squad following a loan spell at Vale of Leithen.
Another club this week adding to their ranks is Whitehill Welfare.
Following last week's announcement that the club had promoted under-20 player Sam Capes, Welfare have announced another of its starlets is to be be brought into the first team fold once football at East of Scotland League level re-starts. James Scobie is making the step up and club manager Andrew Kidd is delighted to see another promising player join his squad.
He said: "James is another young player with lots of potential and we're all looking forward to seeing how he progresses at the club.”
Newtongrange Star have announced they are looking to reintroduce an under 20s team for the start of the 2021/2022 season and are looking for two coaches.
